Our Wines

Monserate Winery proudly serves estate grown wine, farmed and bottled here in San Diego County. By serving estate grown wine, we are able to maintain full control over the quality and taste of our wines. With a vineyard sprawling over one hundred acres, we grow a total of fifteen different grape varieties featuring primarily Italian varieties. The temperate coastal climate of Fallbrook, similar to many providences in Italy, makes it the perfect location for our Italian varieties to thrive. Our award-winning wines are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team at Monserate Winery, and we are proud to offer exceptional wine to our customers.

MONTEPULCIANO

An elegant varietal with notes of blackberry and thyme, Montepulciano is rich and medium bodied.

PETITE SIRAH

Petite Sirah is a tannic varietal to be savored, it has a deep color and notes of plum and blueberry.

BARBERA

Barbera is commonly refered to as the people's wine, a high acidity red wine with notes of cherry and herbs.

FALANGHINA

A grape varietal commonly found in southern Italy, Falenghina has notes of lemon and sweet honey.

VERMENTINO

Vermentino can be found in Sardina and Tuscany, Italy. It features floral notes as well as notes of fresh citrus.

FIANO

Fiano has notes of orange citrus and hazelnut, it is one of a few white varieties that is age worthy.

Winemaker

Justin Mund, a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with degrees in Viticulture and Fruit Science, has had a myriad of experience in winemaking and winegrowing from Sonoma County to the Central Coast and for the past 11 years in San Diego County. Justin has worked with well-known producers ranging from boutique operations to large production, multi-label producers. His 24 years of experience at all levels has played an integral role in establishing his proficiency and philosophy toward winemaking and winegrowing.
